My apologies for being a bit AWOL but I have had a horrible cold and so I was holed up in my flat feeling very sorry for myself. I am dosed up to my eyeballs on Vitamin C and am almost completely back on form. A lovely friend who I work with took me to starbuck for a restorative coffee too which I never usually drink so I am a bit buzzed too…caffeine tends to have a major affect on me!
So now for an update on life with me…on Saturday Bond cashed in his ‘Minions’ credit and booked us tickets to go and see Mission Impossible. I have to admit that I was not remotely excited about seeing it as I really don’t enjoy these shoot ’em up movies – hence the trade for minions!
We had a quick bite to eat at the counter first, I am worryingly addicted to their veggie burgers! Then armed with a mango slushy we headed in to see Tom Cruise do his thing…
Honestly it was brilliant – I had to admit to Bond that he still had ‘minion’ credit because I really thoroughly enjoyed the film. Tom is still in amazing shape and did some very impressive stunts – I can’t believe he is 53!!! Simon Pegg was as funny as ever but also managed to pull of the serious side of the movie too. I found him far more believable than I would have expected.
We both enjoyed the footage of London – suitably grey and damp looking as opposed to a lot of Hollywood films that seem to show a London I have never seen before.
If you like the Mission Impossible franchise then this is a great addition. If you have never seen one then do try this – it’s really very good and enjoyable! I was really glad we decided to go for it because it was fully booked for most of the weekend and now I am the envy of my boss as he still hasn’t managed to see it!
Now I will have to re-watch the one in Dubai while actually concentrating properly, from what I recall though Tom Cruise hanging off the Burj Khalifa is quite something…Also if you are ever in Dubai then you can go to the top of said tower and pose with a green screen and get shots of yourself posing like Mr Cruise!
Glad you are feeling better. Colds suck!
I always think I hate action films but then when I watch them I end up actually quite enjoying them. I won’t admit that to my husband though! 😉

Thank you! I hate colds – I am an awful patient too! I have to admit I am the same with action films…but that’s our secret! Horror films however I can’t handle at all, I am such a wuss! Have you seen the Canal?? I couldn’t even make it to the end…xx

So pleased you’re feeling better. I can’t say I’m keen on the Mission Impossible films but it seems like you loved it. Now if it was Zac Efron in Baywatch I’d be there 😀

Thanks! Me too! Off for nice lebanese food with a good friend so that will cheer me up no end! I have to agree, I was so dubious about the film but I really enjoyed it. I think because there was a lot more humour to it than just blowing stuff up. Alec Baldwin was great…I feel rather bad I didn’t give him a shout out now..oops!

I keep hearing good things about the last two Mission Impossible movies, but I never recovered from Mission Impossible II. It was so bad. The first Mission Impossible was good but made no sense.

Luckily I escaped Mission Impossible 2! I would definitely say try again with this one – I really rate it! Your blog is really funny, though I was sorry to read about your cat dying, Megatron sounded really special! xx
